Special Agent Benjamin Hyman graduated from Lamar University in 1999 with bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems. After working as a financial analyst in the private sector, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2004.

Following graduation from the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, Special Agent Hyman was assigned to the San Antonio Field Office, where he investigated white-collar crime with a focus on health care fraud. In 2011, he transferred to the Houston Field Office and continued leading complex health care fraud investigations, including undercover operations and organized crime cases.

In 2016, Special Agent Hyman was selected to serve on the FBI’s Criminal Cyber Squad, where he continues to investigate sophisticated cyber-enabled criminal activity. He holds a GIAC Cyber Security certification and has been recognized for his work with two United States Attorney’s Office Awards and the FinCEN Director’s Law Enforcement Award.

During more than 22 years with the FBI, Special Agent Hyman has spent much of his career serving as a SWAT Operator and is a certified Tactical Instructor. He also serves as the Chaplain for the FBI Houston Field Office.

Special Agent Hyman is married to his wife, Angelica, who is also an FBI Special Agent and serves on the Threat Mitigation Team. Together they have five daughters, ages 28, 23, 21, and 14-year-old twins.
